My Approach to Therapy
My approach is collaborative, strength-based, hopeful, and motivational. We will discover the source of your emotions and thought process by exploring your personal history. I address your issues from 3 angles: emotional, intellectual, and behavioral. The use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy allows you to understand how your thoughts affect your emotions.
You will learn tools to clearly recognize and take control of your perceptions. Using Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, you will learn effective behaviors that will positively transform your life and relationships. Solution Focused Therapy and Narrative Therapy are also used in specific circumstances.
I know how feelings of low self worth can cause depression, anxiety, lack of motivation, and hopelessness. One of my specialties is building self worth and defeating depression and anxiety. You are unique and extremely valuable.
I know the feelings of loneliness and despair when in conflict with a loved one. It seems like there is no solution or ability to communicate. You feel very far apart. But there are effective tools and remedies for these situations. After resolution, the relationship can be even stronger than before the conflict.
I know the challenges of parenting. My husband and I reared 5 children. Parents should not feel inadequate. Instead, parenting tools are easy to learn and fun to apply. Creating harmony in the home is within your reach and will bring great happiness.
All people experience employment and health set backs, and social rejection. These situations should not defeat your zest for life. They are only learning experiences and sometimes even pave the way for a better outcome.
I have been given dire diagnoses. Health issues can open new paths in life.
