About Me

Counseling has always been a passion of mine.  Years of being married, rearing children, facing tough decisions, dealing with health and employment challenges, and working through relational conflicts have taught me valuable life lessons.  I want to share these with you. There are solutions to life’s challenges!  Together, we will discover your strengths, capabilities, and potential.  We will embrace your struggles with a new power, knowledge, and optimism to face and overcome them.

I grew up in a large family in a suburb of New York City.  I attended a music conservatory in NYC and received a Master’s Degree in Music in violin performance.  My husband and I lived in Asia as newlyweds where I played violin in a symphony.  Then we moved to Southern California where I was active in the music scene as a violinist, conductor, and teacher.  We have lived in Southern California since then and reared our five children here.  My life was enriched with a great variety of experiences and relationships with a diversity of people.  In midlife, I was diagnosed with a genetic eye disease that causes extreme vision loss.  I had to stop many former activities, confront despair, and redefine my life.

I began counseling on a sexual assault hotline and found it so fulfilling, I then obtained another Master’s Degree in Science in Marriage and Family Therapy.  This new avenue has brought me a renewed sense of meaningful purpose as I help others navigate challenges in life.  My relationship with God has always been important to me. I believe God has guided me from a sense of despair to a fulfilling opportunity of working with others.  I have worked extensively with victims of all ages who have experienced abuse, assault, depression, anxiety, feelings of low self worth, anger, and relational conflict.

I love music, reading, hiking, history, cooking, and a good joke.  I am happy when with my family and patients.  My passion is working with others to discover solutions to life’s challenges.
