FAQ
-
How long will therapy last?
Optimally, therapy will continue until your goals are reached, but you can terminate at any time.
-
How often do I need to come in?
Weekly sessions are most effective. In some circumstances, however, sessions can be scheduled every other week. In very difficult circumstances, 2 or 3 sessions per week is advised.
-
What is the difference between therapy, counseling, and psychotherapy?
There is really no difference.
-
Are sessions confidential?
Confidentiality is extremely important. The limits to confidentiality occur when the therapist learns of a patient’s intent to harm him/her self or others.
-
Will therapy really help me?
Yes. Processing your deep thoughts and feelings provides the foundation for healing and freedom. Learning tools to cope and go forward is emancipating and also allows you to define your own life.

How do therapists work with other professionals?
If necessary to provide the complete wellness of the patient, a therapist may consult with a patient’s other health providers. This can be done after the patient signs a Release of Authorization form which allows the patient to know the details for contacting the other health care provider.
